National Paro

A week ago the national paro against the current government of Guillermo Lasso began. The national paro called by the indigenous peoples of Ecuador began on June 13. The protests have intensified with the passing of the days and the arrest of indigenous leader Leonidas Iza. While President Guillermo Lasso speaks of openness to dialogue to figure out the counter verses, he also insists on the aggressive use of force, which contradicts him.

What I think is that many indigenous people are fighting for the 10 problems that the government has brought to the Ecuadorian people and many of us do not support them. I recently saw a report of an indigenous man asking for help from all the Ecuadorian people so that we can join them. He explained in the report what they are enduring all these days in the streets without eating and without working. So I agree with the national paro in which the people have the right to protest for what they are no longer willing to put up with the government administration.

Although these days the national paro has affected a lot in my life starting from the suspension of classes face to face at university and also to the stability in my house with food supplies. I feel that my life is back to what it was when the pandemic started. But I hope that soon everything will be solved and that President Guillermo Lasso will make an effective and reasonable decision to face this problem.

  1. I like the organization of your blog. Also, I agree with the detailed and explanation of the National Paro. The grammar is used correctly but what the paragraphs lack are connectors. Therefore, if you use connectors, your paragraph will look more presented and organized.
